Job Summary: Cork Depot/Fleet assistant

 

Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, the Depot and Fleet Assistant support the day‑to‑day operations of the depot, ensuring the efficient organisation, storage, and movement of materials, tools, and equipment and day to day management of the fleet for the depot. This role plays a key part in maintaining stock accuracy, supporting field teams, and ensuring the depot operates safely, cleanly, and effectively.

 

Depot Responsibilities:

Maintaining the general tidiness of the depot, including the yard and car park areas.

Keeping the racking tidy and safe, ensuring all the relevant stock types are blocked together and easy to count.

With training, programming of lights for different jobs and projects.

Picking materials for upcoming jobs and or maintenance.

Meeting deliveries as they come in.

Labelling of stock as it comes in, creating labels and placing in correct areas.

Assist with transfers of stock from the depot to projects or maintenance as required.

Assist with transferring of stock from Deadsure reports each morning.

Maintaining the yard to a high standard, keeping areas clear and tidy, forklift sweeper used to keep surfaces clear.

Occasionally valeting vehicles if needed, also using the pressure washer to keep the fleet in good order

Assisting with fleet management and upkeep.

 

 

Fleet Responsibilities:

Updating Fleet management system on a regular basis. Ensuring all Certs and documentation are up to date.

Scheduling any CVRT and or servicing and repairs to be done .

Dealing directly with suppliers for, repairs, maintenance, tyres etc .

Co-ordinating with the Fleet Manager on all repairs or servicing ensuring no downtime.

Act as a point of contact for drivers regarding vehicle issues, breakdowns, or queries.

Assist with issuing vehicle packs, keys, safety equipment, and documentation.

Support driver inductions and ensure they understand fleet policies and procedures.

Maintaining the fleet to a high standard of cleanliness and roadworthiness.

Up keep of vehicle cleaning area.

Prepare regular reports on fleet status, maintenance activity, compliance, and costs.

Highlight trends, risks, or issues to the Fleet Manager.

Support audits and internal reviews of fleet operations.
