Job Summary:

 

Reporting to the Commercial Director, the IT Support Technician is responsible for providing technical support and assistance to all users within Electric Skyline nationally.

This role involves setting up and managing hardware, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems and devices, with a particular focus on Microsoft 365, especially SharePoint.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Hardware Management:

Set up and configure computer systems, peripherals, and other IT equipment.

Install and maintain operating systems and software applications.

Troubleshoot hardware issues and replace faulty components as needed.

Onsite severs management

 

Software Support:

Provide technical support for various software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, productivity tools, and specialised software used in-house.

Assist users in resolving software-related problems and errors.

Install and update software packages.

 

 

Microsoft 365 Expertise:

Have a deep understanding of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and other components.

Provide technical support and training related to Microsoft 365 applications.

Assist in managing SharePoint sites, permissions, and workflows.

 

User Support:

Respond to user enquiries and provide timely assistance with technical issues.

Diagnose and resolve level 1 and level 2 technical problems.

Document and track technical support incidents.

 

Peripheral Management:

Set up and configure various peripherals for users, including, mobile phones, tablets, desktops, laptops etc

Ensure compatibility between peripherals and user devices.

Ensure all required software is available on peripherals.

Troubleshoot peripheral issues, such as connectivity problems, driver conflicts, and hardware malfunctions.

Provide technical guidance to users on the proper use and maintenance of peripherals.

Manage IT Assets Database

 

IT Projects:

Participate in IT projects as needed, assisting with implementation and testing.

Contribute to process improvement initiatives.

 

Service Provider Support:

Monitor and liaise with our IT Service Providers.

Manage fixed and mobile broadband services and provide onsite assistance.

 

Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.

Strong technical skills and experience with computer hardware, software, and peripherals.

In-depth knowledge of Microsoft 365, especially SharePoint.

Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role with a proven track record.

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

 

Additional Requirements

Certification in Microsoft 365 or related technologies is a plus.

Knowledge of IT security best practices is desirable.
