Quantity Surveyor – South West Infrastructure Upgrade Project.

Due to continuing success and growth, we have a fantastic new opportunity for a Project Planner/Scheduler to join us working on a new Large Public Lighting Lantern & Infrastructure Upgrade Project in the Southwest Region.

Reporting to the Senior Management Team, the successful candidate will be enthusiastic, confident and highly motivated with excellent project planning and scheduling skills and be able to work independently as well as part of a team.

The candidate must also be able to work to deadlines and possess a very high level of I.T., communication and reporting skills.


  • Create, maintain, review and administer Construction schedules and programmes.
  • Breaking large Projects down into phases of development
  • Working with Project Managers/Engineers & external Subcontractors to calculate the resources needed for a project and the sequence/phasing of the Works.
  • Liaising with Managers and Engineers to discuss the progress of the project, address any issues that arise and implement into the project programme as required.
  • Liaise with the Project Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager with respect to any Programme Impacts / Delay Events, and assist with the compilation of Compensation Events for submission to the Client. .
  • Producing Progress Reports and Forecasts for Team Members, Clients and Stakeholders
  • Present information for internal meetings as required on the Project.
  • Problem-solving in order to minimise impacts on the overall Project Programme
  • To undertake any other duties as allocated.

The Person:

  • Degree educated in Construction Project Management or Engineering
  • Strong communication, time management, problem solving and reporting skills
  • Contractually & Commercially aware
  • An ability to achieve targets and deadlines (KPI’s)
  • Good IT skills with high competency in Project Programming Software (eg MS Project, Asta PowerProject, Primavera P6 etc), Microsoft Office suite & CMS Systems
  • To be methodical, pay attention to detail and be accurate
  • To be good at working with people at all levels and working within a team environment
  • Very eager to learn and develop professionally
  • 3+ Years previous construction industry experience.


  • Candidates with NEC Contract Experience will be highly regarded (incl on NEC Cost Plus Contracts)
