Electric Skyline recently completed the removal of 37 high masts located on the N4 dual carriageway on the approach to Sligo and replaced them with 64 low-level standard and passively safe public lighting columns, with low wattage LED lantern technology.
This project will not only provide a much more energy-efficient solution, but it also provides substantial benefits, in terms of lowering ongoing maintenance and running costs, whilst also minimising the impact on the surrounding environment.
As the Road needed to be closed for this work to take place, it was carried out over 7 nights, in order to minimise disruption. The size of the High Masts meant that specialist cranes and transportation had to be in place to safely remove them.
