Wesley College is a leading co-educational secondary school located in Dublin, Ireland. The campus boasts an impressive range of sporting facilities, including multiple hockey pitches, rugby and football pitches, tennis courts, and a full-sized all-weather astro pitch. These facilities support a vibrant sports programme that encourages participation, teamwork, and high performance at all levels.

As part of a major upgrade to Wesley College’s outdoor sports facilities, a total of 70 modern LED sports floodlights were installed across multiple playing areas on the college grounds. These new fittings replaced outdated metal halide systems, significantly improving both lighting quality and energy efficiency.

In addition to the lighting upgrade, a state-of-the-art Casambi lighting control system was installed across the college’s two hockey pitches and the full-sized astro pitch. This aspect of the project was delivered in collaboration with Wink Lighting, whose expertise in wireless lighting controls helped ensure a seamless and intelligent lighting solution tailored to the college’s needs.

The results have been transformative. From a user experience perspective, athletes and staff now benefit from consistent, high-quality illumination that can be controlled with ease. From an energy perspective, the college has recorded a remarkable 68% reduction in energy consumption compared to the previous system, highlighting the long-term sustainability benefits of the upgrade.
